Engaging with Society:

KRISHI MELA

When it is said agriculture, it should be interpreted as organic agriculture. However, the common perception is there is agriculture and organic agriculture. If one, goes back to the roots of agriculture, there was no pesticides, no chemicals were used by the farmers. The crop was organic. With the advent of chemicals and pesticides the farming became inorganic. Therefore, agriculture is always organic if done naturally. Presently, the farm produce which is available for consumers’ disposal is mostly cultivated inorganically and unhealthy to consumer. Lack of information to the consumers make them vulnerable to health issues due to consumption of inorganic farm product. To spread awareness and to promote organic farming, Government of West Bengal’s initiative in the form of Krishi Mela was commendable. Brainware Business School students, were motivated to visit and cover the event. They interviewed farmers who presented their organic farm products, spoke to innovators who displayed their innovation to boost organic farming. The objective of the visit was to develop consciousness towards relationship between earth and men by the way of organic farming and to spread the awareness of health among fellow students.

INTERNATIONAL WOMAN’S DAY

Achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls is the unfinished business of our time, and the greatest human rights challenge in our world. — UN Secretary-General, António Guterres.
Women have contributed immensely in the development of countries in particular and societies at large. Their contributions are no longer limited as mothers, sisters and spouses, rather they are contributing from the field of business, politics, aviation, national security, intelligence services and many other areas where only men dominated in the past. At Brainware University, men and women both are inspired to excel in their future endeavour. Both are given equal opportunities and allowed to participate in every aspect of activities so that the idea of gender equality is honoured and women and girls get empowered in achieving success.

NAD Seminar

Student welfare has always been our utmost concern. Providing them with all the relevant forms of assistance that would help them grow throughout their academic career is our creed. Keeping these views in mind Brainware University had organized a seminar on the National Academic Depository in association with the University Grants Commission, today at its Barasat campus. Documentation has attained a degree of great importance and relevance in today’s world; the participating students were made aware of this initiative of the MHRD where they can store their numerous marksheets and certificates thus eliminating any fear of misplacement. Brainware University welcomes such a venture.
