"At a time, awareness campaigns on gender equality served a particular purpose. It is a fact that women in our society have faced various atrocities - from Sati to dowry. They have suffered the perils of early widowhood and till now face restrictions from several quarters," said Hon'ble Chancellor Phalguni Mookhopadhyay while addressing the packed auditorium at a workshop on 'Gender Equality: Unveiling Reality and Dispelling Misconceptions.' He believed that both the speakers would put in a balanced perspective with regard to gender equality.

Dr Sanjoy Mukherjee, Adjunct Professor, Department of Law, Brainware University and Former HOD, Department of Political Science, Scottish Church College and Men's Rights Activist (MRA) Nandini Bhattacharjee were the resource persons at the event.
