Workshop on Film Making : Brainware University

The Department of Multimedia, Brainware University organized an online Workshop on Film Making on September 21, 2021. Keeping in mind the integral role filmmaking plays in visual presentation, the workshop was organized to provide the participants with the tips and tricks of various professions and practices associated with Film Making.

To grace the occasion, Mr. Rajesh Dutta, Indian film director and editor associated with the Bengali film industry, was invited to be the guest speaker. The workshop was conducted online through Google Meet with around 120 participants, including students of various departments of the university.

Mr. Dutta, focusing on the relevance of filmmaking, said, “It not only enables you to find remarkable career opportunities but also allows you to explore your creativity. Furthermore, your own skillset is transferable, meaning that you can also be in a position to teach or coach.”

The guest speaker thereafter shared his experiences and discussed some professional filmmaking techniques. “The industry has ample scope for those who aim to pursue a career as a Film Maker, what is needed is a thorough practice” was his advice to all the aspirants.

This was followed by a lively Q&A session where the participants raised several queries regarding the art and forms of filmmaking which were patiently addressed by the speaker. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks from the session coordinators, Mr. Goutam Banerjee and Mr. Sandip Bhattacharjee, Assistant Professors, Department of Multimedia.
