The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with the School of Commerce and Management organised a Fireside Chat on 'Start-up: Reshaping Indian' on 16th September. Padmashri Harshavardhan Neotia was present at the event. Our Chancellor Phalguni Mookhopadhayay extended a warm welcome to the eminent industrialist. The event took place at the auditorium of Brainware University. Harshavardhan Neotia was felicitated by the Chancellor and was gifted with one of his own artworks as a memento from the Brainware family!

Our Chancellor initiated the chat by asking a simple yet important question to Mr. Neotia - "In a university framework, how do we go about encouraging the students to be entrepreneurs?"

While responding to this question, Mr, Neotia said, "Don't try to follow any model that the others are following." Furthermore, he emphasises on the 'luck' factor for a business to click.

Dr. Sanjay Saha, President, IIC, Brainware University said, "This is a remarkable day in the history of Brainware University as it marks the beginning of the journey towards a new horizon."

While addressing the gathering of students and faculty members, Mr. Neotia pointed out that 'inherent strength' is a must for business. He also interacted with the students towards the end of the event where he came up with some useful suggestions for the students who are on the verge of entering their professional lives.

"Enjoy what you do. Love the people. Love the country!" Mr. Neotia shared this 'mantra' with the students for them to succeed in life!
