Euphoria Gen X Online Technical Session on Virtual Industry Visit with Recent Trends in IT Industry

To give students the chance to stay updated with the latest industry trends the Department of Computer Science and Engineering organised Euphoria Gen X Online Technical Session on Virtual Industry Visit with Recent Trends in IT Industry in collaboration with T-Web Exponent Services Pvt. Ltd . A host of technical experts from T-Web, including Mr. Sabyasachi Saha(CEO, Founder & Director, T-Web Exponent Services Pvt. Ltd)briefed the students on the latest trends in the IT industry and gave them tips on how to develop an impressive skills portfolio. Our experts delved into the emerging arenas in lucrative fields of cloud computing, data analytics, and Artificial Intelligence, highlighting the requirements of each field and pointing students towards resources that will help them get started in the career of their choice.

Earth Day Celebration

To raise the sense of responsibility among students the Department of Agriculture celebrated Earth Day on April 22, 2022 from 9 AM onwards. Anaya Ghosh and Udita Mondal (Assistant Professor, Department of Agriculture) coordinated the event. The objective of this event was to spread awareness regarding the depleting quality of the environment. The event invited students to come and listen to scientists talking about the impact of the deteriorating environment on human health. The students also took an oath to help protect the environment.

A Workshop on Next Gen Game Designing

Game designing is taking over the job market by a storm. The Department of Multimedia in collaboration with the Campus to Corporate department organized a special workshop on Next Gen Game Designing on April 26, 2022 at 11 am. In the recent past video games have been in the vogue as a creative and engaging activity. In a world where e-sports are on the rise, game-designing can be a wonderful career path for students to explore. To give them a helping hand, we had Mr. Manas Gharai(Senior Game Architect) and Aniruddha Dasgupta( Head of Training and Development, Red Apple Technologies) to let students understand how the industry works and what recruiters look for in new candidates. This was a perfect opportunity for students to get expert mentoring for free.

Industry Visit to Chitrabani Library

At Brainware University we focus on the complete development of students and ensure that they always stay ahead of the rest. To aid in students’ understanding of the way in which pictures are archived and to help them trace the history of the development of pictures in India, Brainware University Library in collaboration with the Department of Media Science and Journalism organised an industry tour to Chitrabani Library on April 26, 2022. The students got a chance to look at the picture library, the photo archive, the film library and other memorabilia which helped them understand the glorious heritage of Indian film. They were informed about what goes into the upkeep of archives. The students were also given a chance to ask any career-related questions. We hope to continue bridging the gap between the campus and the industry.

Workshop on Salesforce Basics

To provide the students a training on ‘Salesforce Basics’ the department of Computational Science, Brainware University organised a workshop from April 18 to April 19, 2022. Tanmoy Das(Technical Team Lead, Mindtree, Bhubaneswar) was the speaker of this workshop. The speaker introduced ‘Salesforce’ as an important tool. He furthermore emphasized the use of salesforce.com, force.com and cloud technology. The participants were enlightened by the knowledge of how to build stronger relationships with customers and accelerate business growth.

World Intellectual Property Day

To promote innovation, Brainware University in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council conducted an essay writing event on Intellectual Property Rights on May 26, 2022. The celebration of World Intellectual Property Day is dedicated towards young inventors, creators and entrepreneurs who can use intellectual property rights to achieve their goals, generate income, create jobs, tackle local and global challenges and support community and national development.The participants thoroughly enjoyed the event & found the knowledge uncovered through researching the topic interesting.

Webinar on How to plan for startup and legal & ethical steps

To give the students an introduction to the immense business opportunities that exist, Entrepreneurship Development Cell of  Brainware University arranged a virtual seminar along with Institution's Innovation Council on the topic How to plan for startup and legal & ethical steps on May 7, 2022 . The speaker of this event was a student of the Department of Law, Ms. Ekata Deb. Ms. Deb discussed the basics of startups, including its initiation, funds, legal and marketing analytics, financial strategies, organization management, ideation, insights to intellectual property rights, importance of Udyam Aadhar, MSME, ISO and so on . The session focused on the benefits for all the young aspiring individuals  who are planning for their individual startup.

Workshop on Quality Assurance

To help students learn about career opportunities in Quality assurance, the School of Management and Commerce, Brainware University organised a workshop on “Quality Assurance” on April 27, 2022. Anupam Mukherjee (Quality Assurance Manager, Ruby Hospital, Kolkata,West Bengal) spoke about the different aspects of Quality Assurance and its importance in the present scenario. This workshop was beneficial for students to understand the commitment to meet Quality Assurance goals and also how important it is to prevent and reduce risks and errors that occur to patients during provision of health care aimed to sensitize and bring awareness about what quality assurance is all about.

Have a business dream that you want  to fulfill? The Department of Management & Commerce, organised a Workshop on Business Model Canvas on May 10, 2022 to assist first-generation entrepreneurs to establish a successful business venture. Startups have contributed greatly towards the government's vision to build a self-reliant India and increase job-availability. For this purpose we had the pleasure to host Dr Harsh Arora(Associate General Manager, BADA Business) as the guest speaker. As a successful entrepreneur, Dr Arora shared anecdotes about his own journey where he had to embrace both failure and success.

Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, ISIL and ILI Visit— An Educational Tour

Remaining confined to the classroom alone? Learn to do things the Brainware way. To give our students practical demonstrations of the legal world, the Department of Law organised an educational tour to New Delhi from April 20,2022 to April 27,2022. During the course of a week the students got a chance to interact with and visit a host of premier legal institutions that contribute towards uplifting the glorious democracy of our nation. People read about the Supreme Court in their books but we gave them the chance to visit the court and watch both the criminal and civil proceedings. Next we went to meet famous advocate Mr. Parijat Sinha for career related advice. The students received a host of resources to help with their legal career. The tour also included visits to the Parliament, the Indian Law Institute and the Indian Society of International Law. The aim was to help the students understand that the legal system is made up of smaller parts all of which are crucial for providing citizens with a speedy system of justice. The nation too then, depends upon the contributions of each citizen to prosper and grow. The seven days that students spent outside their classrooms helped them watch and participate in legal discourse and prepare themselves for a future in the same. We shall keep providing our students the best of professional learning.

Sing Thy Muse- A Self-Composed Poetry Recitation Competition

Poetry brings light in times of darkness and helps us look towards brighter days. To celebrate the transformative power of poetry and enhance the communication skills of students, the Communication Club of Brainware University in collaboration with the Department of English and Literary Studies organised a poetry recitation competition titled Sing Thy Muse on April 30, 2022. Students from all the departments of the university enthusiastically participated by showcasing the poetry that they had written. The competition saw poems from a wide range of topics tackling mental health issues, climate change, and the need for maintaining the bond of familial love in the age of the internet. We hope to provide more such opportunities for students’ complete development and to enhance their wellbeing.

A One Day Field Visit to Chinshura Rice Research Centre

What sets Brainware University students apart from the rest?  To give students a chance to learn about the industry setups and demands, the Department of Biotechnology organised A One Day Field Visit to Chinshura Rice Research Centre on May 6, 2022. The final year students of Biotechnology and Microbiology visited the institute with a keen interest to learn about how the research procedures they read in books are applied in the industrial setting on a larger scale. The scientists at the institute welcomed the students and introduced them to the various rice hybridisation techniques using which better varieties of rice that are more resistant to diseases, give higher yield are produced for commercial use. to the laboratory alone, the students were taken to the paddy field where the hybrid varieties are grown and tested.
